Is my client data safe?
Your document is processed only for the duration of your request, returned, and deleted — we don't keep it. What we do keep is usage information: page counts, and a filename that has itself been through the redaction engine. Your text is never used to train AI models. If a job fails, a short-lived diagnostic record is kept so we can fix it, and that record can contain fragments of the document. As with any tool touching privileged material, review the result before relying on it.
Does it work on scanned documents?
Yes, for typed text. ScrubSafe reads born-digital Word and PDF files, and runs optical character recognition over scanned pages and images inside documents, redacting the typed text it finds. Handwriting is not read — anything handwritten, including signatures, passes through untouched, and every run tells you how many images it could not read so you can check them by eye.
Will it catch absolutely everything?
It catches a wide range of sensitive information with high accuracy, but no automated tool is perfect. Every run produces a review table of exactly what was replaced, so you confirm before the document leaves your hands.
Where is ScrubSafe hosted?
Currently on cloud infrastructure in the United States. Canadian-region hosting — for firms with data-residency requirements under PIPEDA and law-society guidance — is on our near-term roadmap.
